Swish

Swish has been a regular competitor in major east coast races over the past five years and this will be the Sydney 38s fourth trip to Mooloolaba. Encouraged by a regular crew which boats a wealth of local and international experience, owner Steven Proud is hoping for a strong performance in what will be a hotly contested one design division.

Navigating will be John van Ogtop who has sailed 9 Rolex Sydney Hobarts and many east coast races while others in the crew include Jules Hall who helmed Disko Trooper to a strong finish in the 2005 Fastnet Race. The 'engine room' will comprise Geoff Barnum, Oliver Lee, Kars Meyboom and Jamie Rodger who have sailed over 10,000 offshore miles together on Swish since 2001. Rounding up the crew are Anto Proud and Jouris Meyboom, sons of Steve and Kars respectively, who will be making their first long ocean race.
